You
Will Learn How To Make Batik,
And Much, Much More ....
100% Guaranteed!
If you're like me, when I decided to start making batik,
I had no idea how to begin. None of my friends made
batik … nobody in my family indulged in this
skill. There were certainly no books to teach
making batik to a beginner like me.
I wanted a book that was easy to understand and that had step-by-step
instructions specifically written for a beginner to making batik.
I
wanted somebody to take my ideas, describe the steps to make batik in
simple English (without turning it into a difficult project), then
walk me through the process - from telling me what were the basic
techniques with some sample stories so I could both read and
see how stories were told (Something like those
paint-by-the-numbers kits!).
I
spent hours looking for a “learn to make batik” specifically for
beginners; none was to be found. I bought the books on Amazon.com
which other people recommended and found that they were so
difficult, that I gave up half way. They gave so many alternatives
to making batik and in the end, I did know where to begin or where to end.
Make Batik The Easy Way
You will make your first batik with
fun and ease by following the step-by-step instructions in Batik

million little tips, tricks and secrets that people who make batik
whisper to each other, but don't always publish in patterns
and instruction books?

heirloom.
Batik For Beginners

mastered the nine steps, you will be ready to try more difficult
batik patterns.

making resource will serve as a solid foundation for your
batik making legacy. This Guide describes what dyes to use,
how to prepare batik making fabrics and even the batik tulis
technique. It includes all of the steps in an easy-to-follow format.
"How Do I Know You Can Teach Me How to Make
Batik?"
My journey into batik began when I was still in school. Though we were taught the basic skills, none of the
'secret techniques' were shared and more often than not, our work
was very 'amateurish'.
Still, the 'making-batik-bug' had caught on and I persevered. I
learned by trial and error and in time, I created the piece below.

This piece now
proudly hangs on the wall in my home.
I was SHOCKED when I
started to add it all up!
I wanted to share what I had learnt and began my
research.
It amazed me how much
people were being fooled into thinking that they needed
everything before they could even start making batik.
Here's a breakdown of some of the things
(kits and books)
I found being sold for beginners on the internet ...

Imagine that!
People were willing to pay up to $193.68 to learn a craft I learnt
for a fraction of the price.
I worked it out and I could make a similar piece of
batik suggested by these very people and
save up to $150.00 instantly.
Making batik can be fuss free, cheap
and simple.
The thing is this: as a beginner, there are some things that you do
not need to invest in immediately. For instance, there are ways
of making batik without using a canting tool. Also, you do
not need to buy fabric to make batik.
I decided then, that it was time to write a book to share what I had
learnt from making batik and Batik For Beginners ™
is the final product of all my deliberations.
In this book, each step is chock-full of tips and short cuts to make your learning
easy and making your first batik fun. No holding back. Nothing is
left out. When you finish your first batik, you will know the
secrets of experienced people who make batik, with years of experience, don't know!
Here's a Hint of the
Batik Making Guidelines You Get
in Batik For
Beginners ™
STEP 1
-
Vital
Tools To Help Making Batik As Fuss-free As Possible.
Excerpts:
Imagine this: you are
standing in an empty room. You are an artist and would like to paint a
picture. But, there are no canvases, hardly any paints, no brushes and
not even an easel. Instead, all over the room, there are dirty rags, a
pile of junk and many versions of the same kinds of low quality paints.
How are you possibly going to get that masterpiece of yours on canvas
without even these basic items in hand?
Likewise, in making
batik, if you do not have some of the most basic equipment in hand, then
how will you even make that beautiful and stunning batik?
STEP 2
-
Preparing The Fabric
Excerpts:
The most
common kinds of fabric used are those made from natural
fibre. Ideally, experiments should be conducted on
unbleached muslin. However, the more common kinds of
fabric used are cotton and silk. Crêpe de Chine,
georgette, and chiffon are also effective, but taffeta
and non-washable silks usually make poor materials to
work with, due to their artificial stiffening. ...
As you
progress and become more confident, you can buy the
fabric of your choice.
In this Step, you
will discover how you do not need to buy fabric to make
batik. I will show you just how to maximise the use of what
you already have.
STEP 3
-
Pencil In Your Design
Excerpts:
My suggestion is that if this is your
first time ever making batik, just have fun. ... Do
not be too ambitious as yet to create designs and so
on. ... When you feel more comfortable with the
technique, the instruments and tools, you’ll be in a
position to attempt to create works of art and
material you can later convert into quilts and
garments.
In this Step, I will show you a batik making technique I use to ensure that
the final outcome of my design is exactly the way I want
it. Also, I share with you the secret of how
professionals ensure that their lines are 'clean' and no
untoward pencil marks remain in the final design.
STEP 4 -
Preparing The Paraffin Wax And The Dyes
Excerpts:
Batik Tulis
is a
Malay word and literally translated, it means ‘Write
Batik’. What this implies is that the artist
‘writes’ on the blank white cloth with the melted
wax. The tool he uses is the canting (pronounced
‘chanting’) tool.
Once
you have mastered the basics of how to make batik,
you can proceed to this level to draw your own
designs.
In this Step, I start by showing you a technique of making
batik which does not require you to spend your money on
buying paraffin wax. Even if you choose to use paraffin
wax, I show you a technique of keeping the wax malleable at
all times.
STEP 5 -
Drawing The Design With Wax
Excerpts:
There
are essentially three ways to apply wax to a fabric.
1. One
is to pour the wax and let it spread in a
random manner on the fabric ...
2. The
next is to confine the wax to certain portions of the
fabric using a brush. ...
3. To
use the wax like a pencil and literally draw with wax.
In this Step, I will explain each of these techniques in
detail. Then, I will give you some tips about how to
maximise the use of the wax and also show you the proper way
to hold the canting tool.
STEP 6 -
Adding Colour
Excerpts:
If you feel adventurous, you may wish to
experiment with the colours, just to see what exciting
things can happen before your very eyes. Here’s a
technique I use. Let’s use the example in this picture:
... Sometimes to add some pizzazz, artists will add two
colours; for example, one blob of blue at one tip and
one blob of green at another tip of the petal. Then,
they sit back and watch the colours mix and
extraordinary results.
In this Step, I'll not only show you how to add
colours to make your batik a vibrant piece of work, I'll also show
you how it is possible, in making batik, to correct some mistakes.
STEP 7 -
Re-applying The Wax And Subsequent Dye Baths
Excerpts:
Remember though, that before you attempt
to re-wax the fabric, all of the dye must be completely
dry. If you don’t take this last step, it is likely that
the wax will not stick properly and the dyes will run.
STEP 8
-
Removing The Wax
Excerpts:
Many people have assumed that removing the wax
is the hardest part but with the right techniques, it
does not have to be so. You have to understand the kind
of fabric you’ve used, the wax and also the dyes. Only
when you know these things in depth will you understand
which method of removing wax will be most effective.
There
are several methods you can employ. ...
Once you master this step, you will understand how to
prevent your batik from having that waxy feel.
STEP 9
-
Caring For Your Batik
Excerpts:
The most
frequently asked question people ask is this:
I
have a cotton batik which I put in the wash and the
colour bleeds. How do I stop this?
... Once
you have that high-quality batik, you should take the
following steps to ensure that it is well kept at all
times.
Here's what
the first person who invested in this ebook had to say
about
Batik
For Beginners™
|
Annabella Westwood Newcastle
Australia
Dear Aneeta,
I was so intrigued by what
you were telling me that I tried it
immediately. I took an unused handkerchief
and followed the steps you showed me. In
such a short time, Aneeta, I had a batik
handkerchief. After I removed the wax, the
final result looks fabulous. I know, it's
not like the ancient Javanese batik you
talked about. still, it's interesting. It’s
so different from what I’ve done before.
I recently invested in
your ebook and I’d like to tell you the two things I learned most from it:
|
1) |
There are loads of other websites which talk about the
techniques of how to make batik. But, with every one of them,
there was something missing. I could not put my finger on it but
I just knew. With your ebook, I understood the whole process
from start to end. When I came to the end of your book, I
realised that this was the first ebook which gave me a
‘wholesome’ picture of the whole process.
|
|
2) |
What I liked, also, was the
‘how to care for batik’ section of
your ebook. You provided all the alternatives in one place. I
did not have to go hunting for more information.
|
And
yes,
I like the scarf you sent to me. Thank you.
As you’ve asked for it,
here’s a picture of the first batik I made. More to come ...
Sincerely,
Annabella Westwood

My Pain is Your Gain....
Here's the best news of all:
you can take advantage of an
extraordinary offer.
This ebook was many months in the making. Because I
love making batik so much,
it really wasn't painful, but it was a huge time commitment.
I set about learning all about
the fabrics you can use to make batik. Normally, this would
be a fun thing to do. However, I wanted to make sure that I
suggested you use would be easy for you to follow and
understand how the pattern fit together.
And I thought about and
studied the sizes of the various pieces of batik you could
make. Certainly there are good things about starting out
making a huge batik piece. But, it's hard to manage such a
size immediately. Indeed, if it did not work out, you'd be
left miserable and dejected. So, I fixed ad size which you
can manage from the start. That way, you can learn
quickly and begin on your next quilt right away.
Then I outlined each step and
decided what was important to show you on your journey of
making batik.
I wanted to be sure that you
had all of the tips and tricks that took me years to
discover.
Then, I fired up my computer
and began to write it all down. That took weeks but it was
well worth the effort.
... And at a Great Price too!
So, you now see why my family thinks I should be selling this
resource for a very high price. They know how much time and thought
went into it.
But I convinced them that I should
try this price as a part of a
marketing test. They still wondering whether I have
truly lost my mind.
You could sign up for a
workshop. You would easily pay $40.00 for a one day class, and
spend all day Saturday learning the basic steps to make batik. Now, that is your first clue that something is not right! You
see, batik is not a project you can finish in one afternoon. Batik
takes time to make. Also, about all you would be
able to accomplish during the class would be to cut your fabric and
stretch it. The teacher would probably tell you how mix your dyes,
apply the wax and that's it. After those instructions, you would be on
your own. Home, with just your notes from the class.
Then, there's the possibility of signing up for a year-long
class at a local community college. Assuming there is
one nearby, you could drag yourself every week to a class - come
rain, snow or shine - with people who are more advanced at making
batik. Some fast, some slow, some whiny, some cheerful. The point is that
your learning is limited by other people in the class and the
teacher's reaction to them. She could decide that the people in the
class couldn't handle ALL of the secrets and tips she has to share,
and then
you
wouldn't get all of the information. Plus, we all know that every
single class for 26 weeks in a row is pretty impossible.
You could
buy every
'how to make batik' book on the shelf. That would
cost about $200.00! Trust me - I've got about all of them. That way, you'd have
a lot of great information. Thing is, each book would
have a different way to do the same thing, and it would be up to you
to figure out which is best. It has taken me more than enough time I
care to count to wade through all of the different ways to do stuff,
and pick the easiest ones.
The bottom line is that
NOWHERE is there a resource as valuable as
Batik For Beginners™
at any price!
Because this is an Internet product, I'm doing a test and passing
those savings on to my Internet customers (i.e., you) until only.
